While Revisto is an AI-powered healthcare technology, our true “secret sauce” is in our people. In our new series, we’re shining a well-deserved spotlight on the industry experts working every day to accelerate the MLR process and unlock competitive advantage for life sciences companies.

We sat down with Anika Bull to gain her perspective on the state of pharma marketing, what’s around the corner, and how Revisto is enabling true innovation.

Where are you based?

I live in New York City.

What’s your role at Revisto?

I’m a Senior Product Manager, also working on overall business strategy and growth. On the product side, I focus on defining new features and ensuring we’re building solutions that truly align with the needs of our pharma and life sciences customers. It’s a collaborative effort, working with our developers and our UI/UX team to shape the user experience.

On the strategy and growth side, I work on how we position the product in the market,—essentially how we tell our story. A big part of this is determining the most effective way to communicate what Revisto does and why it matters to life sciences customers, whether on our website, in conversations, or across channels.

What are your favorite AI tools?

The one I use most regularly is an app called Granola. It’s a live note-taking and transcription app that you can use in meetings and discussions. It provides a summary of your meeting notes, but you can also prompt it for to-do’s, follow-ups, and ask it to expand on topics.

I’ve found it really helpful in meetings, as it allows me to focus fully on the conversation, without also trying to take notes, track the discussion, and remember every little detail.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was in middle school, I wanted to be in film. I was really interested in being a director or a documentary filmmaker. I’ve always enjoyed being creative.

What impact do you think Revisto is making in the MLR and promotional review space?

Before joining Revisto, I worked as a life sciences consultant, partnering closely with commercial and marketing teams. The MLR process consistently stood out as a major bottleneck with clients. It was often viewed as daunting, unpredictable, and difficult to manage, with timelines that could easily slip and slow down launch or marketing campaign execution. Revisto is changing that dynamic. By streamlining and systematizing the review process, we’re reducing the time, effort, and uncertainty involved. Ultimately, we’re helping organizations move faster and with more confidence, which I believe is critical in a highly regulated, competitive environment.

What drew you to this role at Revisto?

Throughout my consulting work with pharmaceutical companies, I saw firsthand how critical,  and how challenging, the MLR process can be. Even the most strategic and well-coordinated product launches can be slowed by MLR delays. I worked on launches where competitive therapies with similar mechanisms of action were coming to market around the same time. The differentiator in capturing market share often came down to which team could get materials approved and in front of healthcare providers first. When the MLR process is inefficient, it can meaningfully impact competitive advantage.

I also supported organizations pursuing true omnichannel engagement strategies. These teams were making real progress in areas like data integration, audience targeting, and creative production. Yet, even as their capabilities increased, their ability to deliver timely, tailored messages to healthcare providers was still constrained by the MLR bottleneck. Teams knew who they needed to reach, with what message, and at what moment, but materials simply couldn’t move through the review process fast enough to make that vision a reality.

Seeing that gap between strategic ambition and operational feasibility is what ultimately drew me to Revisto.

Given your long history in the pharma commercialization space, what do you think has changed, and what hasn’t?

From the commercialization perspective, one of the most significant shifts has been the move toward omnichannel and hyper-personalized engagement. As consumers, we’re all accustomed to receiving tailored messages at exactly the right moment, informed by rich behavioral and preference data. For a long time, pharma lagged behind this standard. We’re seeing a big push from life sciences companies to catch up to other industries in this regard.

What are the biggest challenges you see facing the industry today?

From the perspective of commercial and marketing teams, one of the biggest challenges is the sheer volume of information that healthcare providers are being asked to absorb. Physicians are navigating constant outreach: emails, sales rep visits, conference materials, journal updates, and medical education content, all while trying to stay current with evolving clinical evidence and the needs of their patients. In conversations with HCPs, I have heard a consistent theme. They want to stay informed, but the pace and volume of communication can feel overwhelming. When every brand increases content output without a clear strategic filter, the result is noise, rather than meaningful engagement.

This is why pharma and life sciences companies need to be exceptionally thoughtful about the quality, relevance, and timing of their messaging. It’s not about producing more content; it’s about delivering the right content. This is where I think Revisto plays a critical role. By streamlining the review process, teams can operate more strategically and efficiently. They can focus on developing a variety of clear, high-impact messages that resonate across physician segments and then deploy those messages in a focused and timely way.
